TENDERS PITCH – Yurt Camping

Wonderful wild camping in your own site, with a yurt and outdoor cooking area

Tenders is a beautiful site with varied tree cover, a yurt and outdoor cooking area, as well as a number of shake holes providing light and open areas. This is our largest site extending to around 12 acres of woodland

Tenders has its own entrance sweeping round into the beautiful site that has been cleared and developed for a truly magical woodland experience. Through the pine trees, there is a yurt for your use, and an outdoor cooking area as well as a large fire pit with log seating. There is space to pitch around 3 large tents, and lots of trees for hammocks, as well as smaller areas for smaller tents. This site can easily accommodate 20 people without feeling crowded, but would be a wonderful spot for a family wanting space and peace. There is one composting toilet and a bucket shower on the site.

About the Yurt

Our Yurt offers campers a comfortable indoor area if it gets wet and or cold. For small children it offers the ideal area away from the noise and interests of the main campsite. For colder nights campers can light the wood burner in the yurt, but otherwise the Yurt is empty for you to use as you wish.

Our wild sites are booked by only one party, so this site is exclusively for you and will give you your own space and privacy during your stay.

Greyhound Wild Woodland Camping in Dorset

GREYHOUND PITCH – woodland camping

Relax in total privacy in the most tucked away site in wonderful light birch woodland.

Greyhound extends to around 9 acres of woods, and consists of a series of small clearings reached through a long path winding through dense foliage. It is a simple site with areas for camping, and a fire pit. It has a composting toilet and wild shower.

This pitch would easily accommodate 10 people, but also would be a wonderful hideaway for a small group or couple. When you book this site you will be the only party in greyhound, with the 9 acres for your use alone. Our wild sites are booked by only one party, so this site is exclusively for you and will give you your own space and privacy during your stay.

CRAFTSMAN PITCH – woodland camping – weekdays only

An uplifting woodland campsite with open spaces and beech, fir and birch woodland.

Woodland camping at Craftsmen has a lovely open feel, and plenty of sun through the trees. It extends to about 6 acres of woodland in total. It has several clear areas with plenty of space for a number of large tents. It is next to the activities centre and has a busier, more active feel.

There is still plenty of peace to be had as well, with quiet evenings and visits from our local deer herd. This site is perfect for families and groups who have people who are doing our more adventurous activities in the activities area. It has one toilet and one wild shower on site.

When you book Craftsmen you will have exclusive use of the site, and be the only party in the 6 acres.

Wonderful wild camping in your own site, with yurt and outdoor cooking area

There are now FOUR wild woodland camping pitches, Villager, Lordship, Decanter and Days Dreams. They are well spaced from each other, with each site large enough to accommodate at least one large tent, often more than that. Most woodland pitches can also have hammocks, with numerous suitable trees surrounding the pitches.
Our wild sites are booked by only one party, so this site is exclusively for you and will give you your own space and privacy during your stay.

Hammock Hill Pitch

HAMMOCK HILL PITCH

Please note that due to Bluebell growth our Hammock Hill pitch is not available during April-May.

Hammock hill is a woodland area for people either alone or in couples to pitch hammocks or small tents under the trees near our bluebell woods. There is a maximum number of 8 people in this spot. Although called Hammock Hill most of the site is level, but slopes away at one edge down through woods towards our pony meadow.

Meadow Camping in Dorset

Camp in the peaceful meadow a truly wild-camping experience hidden away in a secluded wooded valley close to Dorchester in Dorset

Our meadow camping is in hay meadow. We have 2 pitches here very well spaced, with much more separation than most camp sites. Each area is around 350 ms2, and has its own fire pit with BBQ grills.

There are shared composting loos and wild showers adjacent to hay meadow, and easy access to water.

This charge includes use of wheelbarrows to get to your site, and use of the loo and shower. We do not charge for children and babies under the age of 5. Dogs are not allowed in hay meadow.
